The Opera for the Young touring cast has happily toured the Upper Midwest in rented 15-passenger vans for many years. As rental van shortages make it more and more difficult to secure a vehicle, we are buying our own touring van – for the first time in OFTY history! No more struggling to remove heavy bench seats from rented vehicles! No more makeshift cargo area with windows in danger of being damaged by the set! No more lost magnetic logos on long drafty highways! Opera for the Young’s new van will be designed to fit our specific needs – seating for 5 artists, cargo space for their luggage and our annual touring production’s set, costumes and props. Well-fitted and reliable, this van will keep OFTY on the road for many years to come!
