2024-2025 The Magic Flute

This Saturday’s performance at the Ravinia Festival marks the final stop on our 2024 – 2025 tour of The Magic Flute. As we close the curtain on this season, we also celebrate the retirement of our beloved Artistic Director.

It’s hard to say goodbye to this magical adaptation—and to the extraordinary wordsmith, educator, and leader we’ve had in Diane Garton Edie. But thanks to Diane’s vision and legacy, a vigorous team is ready to carry forward the important work she so passionately led.

Important work with hurdles to overcome – NEA funding, about 9% of our budget, is no longer available. We’re working hard to fill the gap through sponsorships, grants, and smart cost-cutting, all while keeping programs affordable.

As we head into our 56th year, we also have things to celebrate! Next season’s The Elixir of Love fall tour is booked, the Fall Gala is set for October 19th with a new sponsor, and we’re welcoming two new staff members, Isabel Celata and Lisa VanderMause.

Please consider making a donation to support The Magic Flute – if we can raise $5000 by June 30th we can meet our financial goals for the season! To sweeten the deal, gifts over $500 will receive a special-edition tote featuring artwork for The Magic Flute by Ingrid Kallick.
